This happens, but a couple people were hit by either the car or the door or pieces of the door (couldn’t tell from where I was sitting). One car had a stuck throttle and crashed through the wooden section of the wall that leads to the pits.

Track safety was another big concern for me as a race fan. Food sales are high margin and could make or break an entertainment venue, and I saw a LOT of frustrated people walk away hungry and thirsty with their money still in their pocket. You can't bring food or drinks in but unless they fix this issue, I will start putting food and drinks in a cooler in the car. I heard people in the stands complaining that they ran out of soda well before the end of the races. Those folks were working hard and were actually pretty friendly, but only one of two food stands was open and it was desperately understaffed. I missed whole races! I only saw two workers at the counter and a long line of people waiting. 35 minute wait in line to get a hot dog and a drink. Location is excellent: on the East side off of Brookville Road just inside 465. Track surface is very good, view from every seat looks good, safety barrier and fencing appear sturdy, stands are a mix of wood and metal and are reasonably comfortable (I'll bring a stadium chair next time), but all looks pretty clean and reasonably well maintained. $10 bought me the whole seat, but I only needed the edge! (Cheesy, I know!) The track and facility are pretty nice for a venue of this size. and sheer guts! This is really exciting racing and compelling drama. Even as a die-hard racing fan, I have to admit that I was amazed at what these folks do and at their driving skill. My first figure 8 racing experience was last Sunday at the Indianapolis Speedrome.
